***WHAT IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOON?*** The beauty of the Moon has impressed not just the people on Earth, but birds also. CHAKOR bird loves the glaring beauty of the Moon so much that it keeps gazing at it for hours without even moving its eyes. What an appreciation and passionate love for a garnish and shining beauty! From the planet Earth you can see only one side of the moon. YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO SEE THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOON FROM THE EARTH. What one can tell about the other side of the Moon is just the guess-work (= conjecture). Using the above analogy, I would like to explain below how the MAJORITY of mankind perceives things in real life. If you look at the history of mankind and reflect on the causes of RISE and DOWNFALL of just a few civilizations of the past, you would come to know that all those great and powerful nations were destroyed and collapsed due to their own wrong doings. This is what the Qur’an relates to as the WRATH AND PUNISHMENT OF GOD. Some of the reasons of the downfall of past civilizations are: 1). Belief in man-made gods ( = blind-following = superstitions = philosophies based on dogmas) 2). Religious competition leading to never ending wars among different nations 3). Injustice and utter disregard of human rights 4). Hatred, oppression, and killing of weak and poor fellow human beings 5). Misuse and wasting of natural resources and damage to the environment 6). Greed, impatience, inaction, and being steadfast in wrong doings If you objectively analyze the reasons noted above, you will realize that THE GREATEST CAUSE of the downfall of nations was the one listed on the top of the list. Because, WHEN PEOPLE PUT BLINDS ON THEIR EYES THEY CAN ONLY SEE THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOON, which is the dark side. (= they don’t perceive reality = they believe in guess-work and conjecture). [Point to Ponder: We put blinds on both sides of a horse’s eyes in a cart so that it can see in one direction only.] Those who are blind of reason will never see (perceive) the full picture, that is, the bright side of the moon that is in front of their eyes. Such people do NOT afraid of God. THEY ARE ONLY AFRAID OF THEIR OWN SINS (Sin = wrong doing in the society, as noted above). THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO REGULARY ATTEND MOSQUES AND MANDIRS, AND OTHER PLACES OF WORSHIP. They live in a delusion that by performing worship rituals they will be forgiven for their sins. THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO ARE AFRAID OF GOD ARE THE “SELF-CONSCIOUS” PEOPLE. They sacrifice their lives for others, and strive for Love, Unity, Peace, and Progress of mankind. They are the rightly guided people (= SIRAT MUSTAKEEM = on the right path), who HAVE NO FEAR OF ANYBODY EXCEPT GOD. For such people, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai quotes a verse from the Qur’an and says: “Aagay kaya aggahain, nisoroee noor, ‘La khofun alaeehim, wa la hum yahzanoon’, sachhan konhay soor, Maulay kayo maimoor, angu azal mein un jo.” … Shah TRANSLATION: “They are already enlightened one due to their belief in God, hence No fear comes to them, they are immune to dangers (of dogmas and ignorance), God destined prosperity for them from the day one (= the moment they believed in God)".
