WHAT IS THE RIGHT PROCESS? OR WHO IS FIT & PROPER PERSON? I - TopicsExpress

WHAT IS THE RIGHT PROCESS? OR WHO IS FIT & PROPER PERSON? I said two words; Process & Persons, are what I believe platforms that public opinion is feeding upon to cause country wide discomfort. This Prime Minister has become PM in a very critical time where his influence and logic has deemed all fit and proper persons and offices unfit to deal with his allegations by public opinion. Any result in essence may be correct according to due process will definitely attract public criticism and notoriety. It seems that whatever process or person the PNG Government may use at this time regardless, all its efforts will seem a big conspiracy in support of current PM. His name and relationship with his work has been tarnished. He is already guilty by 80% of public opinion before proven otherwise. Its a serious situation where, even if he (PM) is wrong, he is right or will try to make it right on the eleventh hour using the persons and the processes. Or even if he is right, public opinion will say that he is wrong because of the persons and processes. The questions that I keep pursuing in light of current events in the political arena is that; 1. Are the key persons/leaders holding constitutional offices credible enough to investigate the PMs corruption allegations? 2. Are the offices handling the PMs corruption allegations legally fit and proper? I am weighing a suggestion to identify the right person/a third person. That will step in to redirect both parties (Disgruntled Public Vs NEC) at this very moment that will disseminate a fair information about the person/s and process/es that will be used to get justice done accordingly without causing much public discomfort and government disharmony. An acceptable third person. And that I am aligned to think is a Commission of Inquiry should be established as soon as possible led by the Chief Justice and that inquiry establish its findings in one month from any date. Which might not be a correct approach. This problem seem to step out of line from the normal law and order situation into the grey areas of PNG culture in morality and ethics. This inquiry or third person must encourage UNI students to go to class, disgruntled public to find peace, frustrated interests groups to return to normalcy. If an inquiry is not a correct approach then what is a correct approach to bring in a third person or arbitrator to sort the current disharmony among us? BW
