WHAT WENT WRONG TODAY? (My Opinion). Celtic were poor today, and unlike last week, the manager is at fault - along with poor performances and lack of urgency on the pitch. Im not going to be calling for Ronny Deilas head, because that wont solve much and I believe he is a decent, intelligent manager... But he misjudged it today, and was too late to do something about it. First, the formation. I know he has been playing 4-2-3-1 for weeks, and it usually pulls off and we score a few and play brilliant passing football, but after the first 15 minutes it was evident that it wasnt working. Stokes was replaced for McGregor, many thought it shouldve been Commons to come on - but with 85 minutes left of the match, Commons would tire and ultimately slow the pace of the game down. So, McGregor, Johansen and Griffiths the three forwards, sitting behind lone striker Guidetti, who is still to find the net in 5 games and has dipped in form and confidence. Playing Guidetti with a strike partner, maybe Griffiths or Scepovic would do wonders - but putting him up on his own with 5 in the midfield didnt give him the boost he needed, although some would argue it gives more men to press the ball in the middle and get a hold of the ball quickly.... Deila shouldve realised, even after the first half, the formation wasnt working today. Secondly, the lack of creativity from the players in the final third let us down. For most of the game, Ross County had 11 men behind the ball camped in their half - but there was no killer pass from Celtic to cut them open, no quick one-twos like we seen two weeks ago against St Mirren. Celtic pressed the ball when Ross County had possession, and you could see the urge to get in front - but there was no magic or clever play today. Biton, a tidy player who usually passes well, failed to pass the ball forward to the front men, and continuously opted for the pass out wide which let us down. All in all, it was a poor Celtic performance and they let down a good home support who turned out at the most financially straining time of the year. Fortunately, were still 4pts clear the at the top of the league due to Dundee Utd losing 2-1 off St Johnstone. The Bhoys better improve on Thursday when we travel to Firhill for the Glasgow Derby! Onward and upwards. What are your thoughts on the game? HH -Rory
