“WHEN PRAISES GO UP, BLESSINGS COME DOWN” Memory Verse: “As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated” 2 Chronicles 20:22. One of the fastest ways to get God’s attention is to lift your voice and praise Him. Everybody praises God when things are smooth and rosy but the true test of a man’s faith and trust in God takes place when things are tough and uncomfortable. For instance, take a look at these situations: when God says; ‘I have healed you’ and the doctor’s report says, ‘you have just a few days to live’, when God says that ‘you will be fruitful…’ but the doctor’s report says that ‘your womb is damaged. You will never be able to carry a baby again’ or when men say your age is a barrier to your getting married or you encounter disappointments from your helpers or when your business seems to crawl instead of running and so on. In these circumstances, what do you do? Do you resign to fate or bow your head in dejection, do you give voice to faith, or let the negative report silence the voice of faith? The mind may become very heavy such that it may be difficult to pray. At this moment, you need a key of praise, especially when all things seem to be against you. This is the secret of champions! They understand that when praises go up, blessings come down. The victory of Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah came on the platform of praise. They had been attacked by two enemy countries and they were outnumbered by hundreds of thousands. Praise unravels secrets, dispels confusion, lightens up burden, draws God’s attention, gives birth to happiness and empowers your sense of creativity. Learn to praise God today, irrespective of your present circumstances and let God fight your battles and secure victories for you. Praise Him now!
