WHICH IS WHICH? There is a another explanation to what appeared in the sky Sunday night. While an expert in Earth Science and Geography at Chancellor College Associate Professor Cosmo Ngongondo says what appeared in the sky was planet Venus completing its orbit around the earth for this year and had a close encounter with the earth - another school of thought suggest this was due to Falcon 9 rocket that was launched in California and dumped some fuel causing a circular-like cloud in Southern African skies. ""Falcon 9 was launched Sunday at 18:00 CAT from Vandenberg in the USA. At 18:52 it entered its orbit and started dumping fuel causing a circular cloud over the Southern African skies that was observed by many," says Shazrene Mohamed, Astrophysicist and currently a research fellow at the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) in Cape Town, South Africa. Mohamed said fuel and water dumps from spacecraft and rockets happen quite often, saying sometimes the dumps appear as slowly expanding clouds.
