WHITE HOUSE VISITOR CENTER REOPENS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2014 The White House Visitor Center, located at 1450 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, offers visitors a window into life in the president’s iconic home. The visitor center is FREE to visit, and open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (except Thanksgiving, December 25 & January 1). The renovated museum offers enhanced opportunities for all to explore and learn about the White House and its roles as home, office, park, and ceremonial space. Visitors can explore touchscreen tours of the White House, interact with tactile exhibits, and experience the 14-minute signature film “White House: Reflections from Within.” Discover fascinating museum objects with compelling stories. Then shop at the White House Historical Association museum store. ***White House Tours*** Public tours of the White House are available but must be requested in advance through one’s member of Congress. These self-guided tours are generally available from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Fridays, and 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturdays (excluding federal holidays). Hours and availability are always subject to change. All White House tours are free of charge. Requests must be submitted through one’s Member of Congress or embassy three weeks to six months in advance of the desired tour date. Each Member of Congress has established his or her own procedures by which to accept tour reservation requests. Please contact the member or members through whom you wish to place the reservation request to learn more about their requirements. The switchboard at the US Capitol and each member’s web page will be able to assist you in reaching your senators and representatives. Due to the large number of visitors, please request your tour as early as possible and specify alternate tour dates.
