WHO ARE THE AVENGER OF TASUED SUG In the words of Frantz Fanon, in a struggle for a common good, no clean hands, no innocent soul, every onlooker is either a coward or a traitor. And, likewise Every onlooker is either a coward or a traitor – Amica Cabra. In comes our generation; Young, self-assured and confident. We have dreams of changing the world starting from our immediate micro society -campus. We are brimming with energy, youth and boundless enthusiasm. Unfortunately, we are divide into 3 groups. The first are those, who like our brilliant students refuse to be bothered. ”Politics is a dirty game &like unionism has borrowed such, it’s not my business” To those I say, Unionism determines how fast you’ll achieve, safeguard &protect your academic dreams, unionism determines the security for fundamental students rights you, I and fellow students get. Our union determines the quality of the dividends from government you’ll get or if at all you’ll get one. So how is it not your business? Indifference is not a virtue.”… Every onlooker is either a coward or a traitor”- Frantz Fannon The second group through their actions deceive people into thinking they want to run with the baton and deliver a new Union. Their true motive? To fatten themselves from the coffers of the kingmakers’ loot. They want their share of the excessively rich and creamy union cake. The third group? They are the true guards who want to deliver the future of this union. Our knights, our Avengers. They charge forward without fear or favour to snatch the baton from the kingmakers. They are the ones who will grab our SUG from the menacles of corruption and the chains of clueless governance of the union. A group of remarkable young men and women who are highly effective in their capabilities. They may be different as night and day, just like the Avengers, but their strength is in their diversity. They can and they will deliver a New SUG through their sacrifice,work and vision. I can hear you ask, “Who are the Avengers here in TASUED SUG?”; Comrade Makanjuola Wasiu (Atiku) is one of them, lets come out en-masses on wednesday 12th November 2014 to cast our votes, pray & support him to emerged as Newly Tasued SUGs President 2014/15 by the grace of God.
