WHY THE UNSURRENDERED SELF IS THE PROBLEM TO ONESELF BEFORE IT - TopicsExpress

WHY THE UNSURRENDERED SELF IS THE PROBLEM TO ONESELF BEFORE IT BECOMES PROBLEM TO OTHERS? Man and womans fundamental problem is the self. Self is at the center of every conscious person living on Planet Earth. Much of everything that we show forth outside of ourselves in our day-to-day living is nothing but self’s projection called self-projection. We fight everyday overly or covertly for over self-protection. We fight to protect our self, i.e., self-image, self-respect, self-dignity, self-interests, self-esteem, self-worth, self-beliefs, etc. Truth of the matter is there is nothing like the self that is not surrendered to something or someone outside of ones self, i.e., job, boss, money, position, power, academic degree, religion, family, community, caste, color, race, ideology, tradition, culture, nationalism, science, God, gods, deities, lover, spouse, work, and the list can go on. Our relationship with that which is something or someone outside of us shapes our attitudes and behavior patterns, and pretty much controls our psyche, personality and being. The kind of God you believe in or the kind of God your culture has influenced you to believe in has shaped your attitudes, behavior and ways you go about interacting with others in family, community and society. The external manifestations of our attitudes and behaviors are nothing but what the self is able to show forth in our day-to-day affairs of living. There is a way self has to see the self like the way we see ourselves in mirror. Unfortunately many people do not have mirrors or do not have some good mirrors to test how their selves appear. If you and I are able to show forth some good fruits in our lives it is an indication that we are living with a healthy self or the integrated self. Saul of Tarsus after having come to see his true self in God’s mirror called Jesus Christ did not like his “self.” By revelation he understood that if the self is surrendered to Christ fruits of the Spirit like love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control could become manifest in a person’s life. That is what he did. Immediately he surrendered his old “self” to the Living Christ. If you find love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in a person, you are absolutely right in believing that no human person, external entity, religion, culture and ideology has produced those fruits in the person. If you do not see these fruits in a person, there is some problem with the self of that person, irrespective of the kind of God that person believes in and the kind of religion the person follows. Look for the fruits of the Holy Spirit in men and women and of course the fruits of evil spirits are visible everywhere and everyday. You just turn on your television.
