WINNING EACH DAY DEVOTIONAL 2 Cor 2:14 “And thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph…” January 22, 2015 GOD-FIDENCE (IV) 1 JOHN 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. David was bold when he faced Goliath because he had a Kingdom perspective. When everyone saw a nine-footer giant sculpted from merciless meanness, he saw a small specimen of humanity defying the greatness of divinity. He was aware of his identity in the covenant, and could therefore challenge the “uncircumcised Philistine”. (1 Sam 17:26) David won 66 consecutive battles- not 66 out of 100 battles! He won all! Have you ever wondered how he achieved such a feat? Victory was assured because He was fighting for the Kingdom. He was gathering materials needed to build the temple. He was an ardent God-lover. There was not a battle he fought without talking to God about it. When you start that business, community project or relationship this year, make sure that your focus is the Kingdom. This year, there is no time, no provision, for being laid back. You have to be passionate about doing things God’s way. “the violent taketh it by force”- that’s the modus operandi in the Kingdom. (Mat 11:12) An awareness of sin robs you of boldness. Little wonder the Bible says that righteousness makes you bold. The righteous are as bold as a lion. (Prov 28:1) If you’re not bold, you have to question your righteousness! Make sure though, that you check for the answer in the Word of God. 2 Cor 5:21 says “you are the righteousness of God”! Step out in faith. Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase. (Martin Luther King). It doesn’t have to follow common sense to work. As long as it has faith-sense, you’re fine! Faith-results will fill your home this year! CONFESSION: Where others see a giant-sized problem, I see a target too big to aim and miss! Where others see obstacles, I begin to see a platform of greatness. Supernatural ideas flow ceaselessly into my life! PRAYER: Thank You for the gift of righteousness. I receive grace to take important steps this year. FURTHER READING: Rom 8:31, 1 John 5:4
