WINNING EACH DAY DEVOTIONAL 2Cor 2:14 And thanks be to God who ALWAYS causes us to triumph... June 8, 2013 WISDOM IN MY HEART II TEXT: JOB 28 JOB 28 brings to light the poetic prose of God’s Word. It explores the question: Where goes wisdom? Job points to the address. The man Job was one God described as righteous, so we can learn from him. JOB 28:3-4 NKJV “Man puts an end to darkness... (mining) in places forgotten by feet.” JOB 28:11 MSG “They discover the origins of rivers & bring earth’s secrets to light.” Great lions (literally “sons of pride”) and majestic animals cannot measure up to man’s mental strength. (JOB 28:8). Man conquers ignorance, correctly applies knowledge &demonstrates superior intelligence. Surprisingly, the Bible still asks- “But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell?” (JOB 28:12 NIV) This shows there are 2 types of wisdom: human, divine. (1COR 2:5,13). WHERE DOES WISDOOM LIVE? 1. Genes? No. 2. Age? No. JOB 32:4 3. Education? No. EC 9:11 NLT 4. HOLY SPIRIT= Yes! In JOEL 2:23, the former & latter rains refer to the wisdom & power of the Spirit. A 21st century Christian needs both (ACT 6:10) ADVANTAGES OF WISDOM 1. Success/Victory PRO 24:6 2. Precious & pleasant riches PRO 24:4, PRO 10:22 3. Wisdom gives STRENGTH (PRO 24:5). Strength precedes EXPLOITS (DAN 11:32). Wisdom provokes exploits. HOW TO GET WISDOM 1. Invest. PRO 23:23 2. Acknowledge/revere God. JOB 28:28, PROV 3:5-6 3. Shun evil. JOB 28:28, DEUT 28:1,15 4. Holy Spirit- Human direction can be your greatest limitation. People can box you into their finite reasoning but what God has in store is infinite &revealed by the Spirit. (1COR 2:9,16, ISA 40:13, COL 1:26, 2PET 1:21) CONFESSION: I have the mind of Christ! (1COR 2:16) There is wisdom in my heart! (Further Reading: PSALM 139)
