This scripture confirms that there are spiritual battles that confront us as Christians in life. A careful study of the scripture will reveal that twenty verses, from chapter 5 verse 22; preceding chapter 6:10-12 above talked about the roles of the individual - wives, husband, children, fathers, servants and masters in the home. It is a confirmation that the center of the spiritual battle is the home. The devil attacks the home because he knows that when the home is attacked every other areas of life will suffer. Attack on the home is the attack on the peace of the nation, the Church and on the economy and the future. There are two major battles in the home. It can either be physical or spiritual. Physical battles are problems between husband and wife. They are what happen when husband and wife fail in their duties to each other. One does not need much prayer to fight this kind of battle. It needs applying the principles of success in marriage. On the other hand there is other aspect of battles in the family. It is spiritual in nature. It is spiritual in nature. It is the kind of battles that arise as a result of spiritual attacks in the family due to different causes. This battle is a spiritual one and every family can overcome this with fervent prayer and at times with fasting.
