WINTHROP—Junior Amanda Riniker of the East Buchanan Buccaneers was a unanimous choice to the all-Tri-Rivers Conference Western Division first team for the 2013 volleyball season. Riniker finished with 104 kills in league play and hit at a .286 rate. She went 74-for-91 from the serving line with 13 aces. Riniker tallied 57 digs and eight blocks and also handed out three assists. Two other Buccaneers gained spots on the Western Division squad. Senior Andrea Hughson made the second team, while junior Kaylee Naber received honorable mention. Hughson amassed 27 kills and hit at a .279 rate. She made good on 59 of her 65 serve attempts with seven aces. Hughson ranked among the team leaders with 27 digs, while also tacking on eight blocks and five assists. Naber amassed 79 kills and hit at a .240 clip. She went 91-for-103 from the serving line with seven aces. She finished second for the Buccaneers with 70 digs and also garnered nine blocks and six assists. Joining Riniker as unanimous first team selections were seniors McKenna Kilburg of Lisbon, Nicole Kudrna of Maquoketa Valley and Sidney Hopkins of Springville, along with sophomores Taylor Huber of Alburnett and Megan Wagaman of Springville. Junior Danielle Heiken of Lisbon also made the first team. Completing the second team selections were seniors Tracy Kilburg of Springville, Kerrigan Riley of Springville, Paige Felderman of Lisbon and Mileala Chapman of North-Linn, along with juniors Renae Jensen of Alburnett and Lexie DeJong of Lisbon. Other honorable mention choices were senior Leanna Mysak of Springville and juniors Jill Freeland of Alburnett, Katie Montgomery of Lisbon, Ashley Holtz of Maquoketa Valley, Maddie Bohr of North-Linn and Alexa Starry of Central City. Claude Howard Jr., of Springville was chosen as the division Coach of the Year. Springville won the division with a 6-0 record, followed by Lisbon 5-1, Alburnett 4-2, East Buchanan 2-4, Maquoketa Valley 2-4, North-Linn 2-4 and Central City 0-6.
