WOCN24 CWHX 161356 Special air quality statement for New Brunswick issued jointly by Environment Canada and New Brunswick Departments of Environment and Health at 10:56 AM ADT Tuesday 16 July 2013. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Special air quality statement for: =new= New Brunswick. Smoke observed over much of New Brunswick. --------------------------------------------------------------------- ==discussion== A ridge of high pressure is driving smoke from Southeastern Quebec southwest over the Gulf of St. Lawrence into New Brunswick. There have been reports of people observing smoke for all but northwestern regions. However at this point particulate amounts still look near normal but are starting to rise. We will be monitoring this closely. In addition a fire in extreme Northwest New Brunswick may affect communities from St Léonard north later today, but there have been no reports so far. On Wednesday winds will shift around to southwest ahead of a trough approaching from Quebec and will flush out any lingering smoke. End
