WOMEN: LIFT WEIGHTS!!! One of the biggest myths in the fitness industry is that if you lift weights, especially heavy weights you will get big. This is the biggest load of crap ever. A high carbohydrate and protein diet together with lifting heavy weights will lead to an increase in muscle mass, (meaning you get bigger.) A controlled nutrition plan together with lifting as heavy as YOU possibly can, will lead to weight loss, tone and the development of lean muscle. Running on treadmills, cycling on bikes etc has its place, but if you are looking for effective workouts that give results, get into the Gym, and turn the opposite way to normal, to the weights room!! Use heavy compound movements. Work with great intensity (which is easier to do with weights), cut down rest periods between sets, increase rep range, eat a clean and well balanced diet and watch the results occur.
