WOMEN WHO DRESS BUT NAKED O women who expose your awrah(or dress half naked), what is it that distract you from obeying your Creator who perfected your beauty. The west? Film industries? Schools? Who do you want to impress? Boyfriends? Boss or self desire? Look at our women, starting from mini to micro and now to bumper skirts, gowns and shorts. You begin to ask, where is bashfulness? And the Prophet (Sollallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “There are two types of the people of Hell whom I have not yet seen: people with whips like the tails of cattle with which they strike the people, and women who are clothed yet naked, astray and leading others astray, with their heads like the humps of camels , leaning to one side. They will not enter Paradise nor even smell its fragrance, although its fragrance may be detected from such and such a distance.” [Narrated by Muslim, 2128] One of the scholars interpretations of women who are clothed yet naked, is that they wear clothes that do not cover them, for being too light or too short or transparent. Thus, they do not serve their purpose. Hence, they are described as “naked”, as the clothes they wear do not cover their `Awrah (parts of the body that must be covered in public). Over and above, “inclined” means deviant from chastity and righteousness i.e. they commit sins and evil deeds like those who do immoral acts or fall short to perform the obligatory duties, prayer, etc. As for the interpretation of “inclining”, it means that they misguide others i.e. they call people to evil and corruption. So, they lead others to immorality and sin by words and deeds. As for the Prophet’s saying: Their heads are like the humps of the long-necked camels tilted to one side. Some scholars said, they make their heads look big, because of the wigs, attachments and the like that they use until they look like the humps of camels. Must you dress half naked when you know His curse hovers over you every time you put on such dress? Therefore, repent to Allaah and be distinct in your personality and dress as Islam has commanded us to be. May Allaah increase us in hidaya. ... Abide by the truth even if your mind deserts you.
