WOMEN’S SOCCER: Bolanle Salako scored immediately after halftime and Marlique Asson added an insurance goal as the Jaguars defeated Middle Georgia State 2-0 Friday in Cochran. Once again GPC’s defense dominated as the Jaguars moved to 7-0 overall and 7-0 atop the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. Salako scored on the very first combination of the second half, getting an assist from Sara Marks and netting a left-footed power shot from inside the 18. In the 72th minute, Kyana Campbell assisted Asson, who quick-triggered an 18-yard right-footed goal. The Jags have outscored opponents 39-1. Michelle Hurst had two saves at the net as once again the Jaguar defense allowed only two shots on goal. The defenders have given up either one or two SOG’s in five of their seven games. GPC hosts Gordon State College Tuesday at 3 p.m. on the Clarkston Campus. Read More. Also follow Jaguar sports at gpc.edu/athletic, Twitter, and the GPC e-mail Athletic Jaglist.
