This is where you come in. Love people before they earn it. Show them they are deserving of love before they start acting like it. See past their brokenness, shame, and guilt. Help them believe what you already know: they are worthy of love, they were made with enormous potential, and God intended more for them. Feeling hopeless is one of the hardest struggles to face on your own. When we feel hopeless, we tend to isolate ourselves and then the downward spiral into desperation is hard to stop. When we find people in dark places, we are to turn on the lights for them. Show them the way out. When they are filled with doubt, bring hope. When they are consumed by pain, give comfort. When they are crippled by despair, show them possibility. Turn on the light for them and help them understand how deeply God loves them, aches for them in their woundedness, and is eagerly waiting for them to join Him where he is working out their dreams. We all are lovingly made with a purpose. We all are worthy of love. For some, our purpose is to lead others to their calling. It is a tremendous gift to help others discover who they are. None of us exist in a vacuum, and every single one of us is part of a bigger plan. Even when we realize our purpose, if others aren’t stepping into theirs, a piece is missing. God made all of us to come together for His purpose and His glory, so it is important that we help others find their place as well so it all works in concert. Be an inspiration. Be the one who guides others in how to BE MORE. Don’t be jealous of the gifts and blessings others have! God made each of us specifically and strategically.
