WORD Today 03/25/14 Is 7:10-14, 8:10 Heb 10:4-10 Lk 1:26-38 Today, 9 months before Christmas, is the Annunciation of the Lord, when God asked Mary to be the virgin mother of our Savior. Do not be afraid, Gods messenger said to Mary. This is also Gods constant message to all of us, for when He approaches our tendency is to be afraid - afraid of what He might ask us to do or to give up. Mary was greatly troubled but she replied, May it be done to me according to Your word. Our Mothers loving, faith-filled Yes to a plan she did not understand becomes the model of our own daily Yes to Gods will as it shows itself in our daily lives. Brother Jesus, You are the one guiding my life and all of history. Increase my trust that You always intend good for me, even if it is painful & purifying. Help me embrace Your will today as our Mother did, with faith & love. Mama Mary, help me say yes today and every day.
