. WORLDWIDE COMMUNION OF CATHOLIC APOSTOLIC CHURCHES (WCCAC) is formed by Catholic and apostolic churches that emerged from the apostolic succession of Dom Carlos Duarte Costa, or other apostolic successions recognized as valid by the majority of the seats apostolic, and share the ideals of St. Carlos of Brazil concerning the nature, organization and functioning of the Church, as expressed in the introduction of the Manifesto to the Nation by August 18, 1945 (Art.1.1); 2. The WCCAC is committed to rediscover, assume and implement the genuine apostolic tradition concerning the mission, organization and functioning of the churches, as is witnessed in the Scriptures, the Creeds, Tradition and Doctrine of the undivided Church (Art. 1.2). The WCCAC is the communion of Catholic and apostolic Churches in which all members are recognized as equal (Art. 11.1). When referring to the Church, one must understand the local Church, presided over by a bishop or represented by those who, on a transitional basis, fulfill its functions, as it appears in the Statute (Art. 12.1, Cf.art. 3 and 4) ; 3. Each local Church, a member of WCCAC, is in communion with other local churches, integrating within an ecclesiastical province or of a superior body, consisting of legal form, public, bound and stable (Art. 12.2); 4. All bishops who preside over local churches must belong to the College of Bishops of the Ecclesiastical Province, and eventually, in this case, in a higher entity of communion, which could be linked to a local church (Art. 12.3); 5. The WCCAC recognizes a precedence of honor to the Brazilian Catholic Apostolic Church (ICAB), by which the President and Chancellor of his Episcopal Council, part of the governing bodies and the President who, in turn, is Honorary Chairman of the WCCAC, and will be recognized as a symbol of the unity of WCCAC, as is stated in the correspondence; similarly the provisions of the General Councils of ICAB, though not mandatory, will be taken into serious consideration by all(Art. 1.3).
