WORSHIP SONG for SUNDAY – Without a doubt there are some reading this who feel discouraged, depressed, beat down, beat up and worn out. To one degree or another that may be everyone reading this – it’s called being human, being broken and being alive on planet earth. I’m going to steal a few words from my worship song of the day and share them with you....and myself also! The first two words are RISE UP! When life gets us down we don’t have to stay there we can RISE UP and do something about where we’re at. When we RISE UP we are exercising our faith in the One Who can lift us up out of the circumstances of discouragement and give us an encouraged spirit even amidst troubling situations. When we RISE UP we tell God that we believe in spite of the evidence that may be contrary to such a belief. When we RISE UP we also tell the enemy that we are not going to roll over and die but we’re going to fight the fight of faith. We have been promised victory through Jesus but the enemy convinces us that we are victims instead of victors. RISE UP and tell the enemy that he is the one that is already defeated and that you have victory in JESUS. The second two words from this song are LOOK UP. In addition to rising up we must LOOK UP to the One Who is always there for us. No matter what your circumstances God is still on the throne, still in control and still deserving of worship. When we LOOK UP we see HIM in all HIS glory and we realize that HE is bigger than all the giants that trouble us and stronger than all the challenges that we stare us down. When we LOOK UP we focus on HIS glory and not our trouble. When we LOOK UP we remember the power of God, not our own weakness. And when we LOOK UP we encourage others and again send the enemy a message that our faith is in the Lord and not in ourselves. So today, on the Lord’s Day, RISE UP and LOOK UP! It will make a difference!
