Go... Athletic programming and understanding how physiological systems interact to maximise adaptation is critical to understand for the strength coach. Unfortunately most programs lack the basic science and justification needed to make them effective. Most programs focus on quantity not quality and look for the pump and getting their heart rate up over quality and the less is more approach. When it comes down to athletic preparation WSSC wants to be known as the leaders in the private sector and give athletes and general readers evidence based practice information to make the best choices for their training. Training to metabolic failure is not the answer and will result in regression of athletic potential and slower and generally weaker athletes.
