WWE Raw Results – August 11th, 2014 We open Raw with a reminder that tonight we will celebrate Hulk Hogan’s birthday! Out comes Brock Lesnar with Paul Heyman. Heyman grabs the mic and begins by introducing Brock Lesnar as the future WWE Champion. Heyman says that tonight he is going to address the fans of John Cena. Heyman says that bad things happen to good people when they enter the ring with Brock Lesnar. Heyman than shows a clip of Lesnar defeating the Undertaker to prove his point. Heyman says when Lesnar was a rookie, he conquered wrestlers such as Hulk Hogan and The Rock. Heyman says that Cena fans need to watch Summerslam because Cena won’t be seen after that night, due to the beating by Brock Lesnar. Heyman than mentions the match at Extreme Rules. Heyman says that Lesnar may have lost, but Cena got the beating of his life. Heyman than says Lesnar was only at 50% at the time, and now he is at 100% and that no one can beat him. Heyman than says this Brock’s house now, and that later tonight, Brock will be coming back home. Roman Reigns is in action up next. We go to commercial break. Corporate Kane comes out and says that he is once again the Director of Operations. He says Reigns is in a handicap match. Roman Reigns vs RybAxel Axel and Reigns start the match. Reigns pushes Axel off at first, and both men lock up again. Reigns gains control at first, knocking Axel down with a shoulder block. Ryback is then tagged in, and both men have a stare down. Reigns tries to hit a shoulder tackle, but Ryback doesn’t go down. Ryback then takes it to Reigns in the corner, but Reigns fights out with a clothesline. Axel then distracts Reigns, and then goes for a suplex. Reigns reverses the suplex into one of his own, and then continues the attack in the corner. Ryback gets out of the corner, but hitting Reigns with a powerbomb. Both men are down as we go to commercial break. We return with Reigns in control over Ryback. Axel distracts Reigns and Ryback takes advantage. Axel and Ryback then begin the double team on the outside. The ref makes a 5 count and RybAxel is disqualified. Winner (by DQ): Roman Reigns Reigns fights back after the bell, taking out both Curtis Axel and Ryback. Reigns hits the spear on Axel and Ryback, and then stands tall in the ring. Renee gets in the ring and interviews Reigns. Reigns asks the crowd if it looks like he is ready. He then says he never stole anything from Orton, but at Summerslam he is going to take everything from him. He then says that Orton claims the Viper is back, but then tells us that when he knocks the Vipers fangs down his throat, he is going to be a pathetic little worm. We go backstage with Orton and Kane. Orton says that no one has taken out Reigns yet, but he is going to finish the job on Sunday. Kane then says Orton needs to be in ready shape for Summerslam, so he will face Sheamus tonight. Stephanie has a confession for Brie Bella tonight. Jericho and Bray Wyatt will also have a one on one confrontation tonight. Rob Van Dam is out next as he will face Seth Rollins after the commercial break. Seth Rollins vs Rob Van Dam Rollins start off this match on the aggressive, but RVD fights back, hitting a standing moonsault for a 2 count. RVD then goes in the corner, but Rollins sweeps the legs and takes RVD down. Rollins hits a shoulder block, and then makes the cover for the 2 count. Rollins puts RVD in a headlock. RVD gets out and puts Rollins in a roll up, but Rollins kicks out. RVD then knocks Rollins down and then goes for the 5 star. Rollins rolls out of the ring and RVD hits a baseball slide instead. RVD then goes for a leg drop on Rollins, but Rollins moves out of the way. Rollins is in control as we go to commercial break. We return with RVD in a headlock. RVD however gets out and begins his comeback. RVD hits a split legged moonsault, but Rollins kicks out at 2. RVD goes for a monkey flip but Rollins blocks it. Rollins then hits the Curb Stomp for the 3 count. Winner: Seth Rollins Rollins gets on the stage and then looks at all of the gifts. He looks at the large one and then acts as if he thinks Ambrose is in it. He then laughs and walks away, but then Ambrose pops out and attacks Rollins! Rollins is able to escape after a beating, and then Ambrose grabs a mic. Ambrose says there is no where to run at Summerslam, and that Rollin’s ass is his. Stephanie is backstage. She is up next. We go to commercial break. We return with Stephanie making her way to the ring. Stephanie says her mission is to always do what’s best for the WWE Universe. She then says that sometimes they get negative news about their own employees. She then shows a picture of one of Bryan’s medical trainers. She then brings Megan in the ring. She then tells Megan to confess what she needs to say. Megen then says that her and Bryan had an affair. Brie comes out and asks Megan if this true. Stephanie taunts Brie and then Brie attacks both of them. Stephanie is then put in the Yes Lock, until agents come in to break it up. Stephanie says they aren’t going to wait until Summerslam, and that they are going to finish this tonight. Jack Swagger vs Cesaro Swagger and Cesaro lock up, with Cesaro getting the advantage first with a shoulder block. Swagger is then hit with a couple of knees, until being gut wrenched by Cesaro. Cesaro continues the attack of the injured mid section, and then follows it with an uppercut. Cesaro then locks in an abdominal stretch. Swagger gets out and then begins his comeback. Cesaro fights back with a knee, and then hits a boot on Swagger, which knocks Swagger to the outside. Cesaro is in control as we go to commercial break. We return with Swagger fighting back. Cesaro however locks in another abdominal stretch. Swagger however gains some separation, and then begins his comeback. Swagger hits the Swagger Bomb for a 2 count. Cesaro gets back in it with a big boot, but Swagger kicks out at 2. Cesaro then goes up top and hits a senton for another 2 count. Cesaro then goes for the dead lift superplex, but Swagger reverses. Cesaro however gets in the ring and hits a catapult knee to the gut, and then follows it with a spinning uppercut. Cesaro then goes for a double footstomp, but Swagger grabs the ankle. Cesaro gets to the rope, and then goes up top. Cesaro then gets caught on the top, and is thrown down into the Patriot Lock. Cesaro has no choice but to submit. Winner: Jack Swagger Colter gets on the mic and says that Swagger holding the American flag will be the only site anyone will see. Out comes Rusev and both men begin to wave the flags. Brie vs Stephanie as well as Orton vs Sheamus is confirmed for tonight. Bray Wyatt and Jericho’s face to face interview is up next. We return with a backstage interview with Bray and Jericho which was conducted by Michael Cole. Bray immediately tells Cole to leave. Bray asks Jericho if he remembers his dreams as a kid, and that if it still bothers him that he sees the disappointment from his father. Bray says the only way Jericho could fill the empty hole inside him is to be a savior of his own. He then says that he can’t even save himself. Bray then says he has never been a savior, but people will always follow him. He says there is no consequence for his actions, and that he has no conscience. He says that he hates everything this world has created, and that he is monster. Bray says his smile is the last thing he will ever see. Jericho says he is not a savior, but he is a survivor. Jericho says he can’t promise what Jericho he will see, but he promises that he will follow the buzzards, and then shove him down his throat. He says he will leave Bray Wyatt speechless at Summerslam, and then the camera cuts. AJ Lee is in action next after the commercial break. AJ Lee vs Eva Marie AJ takes Eva down with a headlock, and then out comes Paige. Paige skips around the ring, as AJ takes down Eva with a shoulder block. AJ begins to get distracted, and then Eva rolls her up for the 3 count. Winner: Eva Marie Paige gets on the mic on the stage, claiming that she will capture the Divas title. Paige leaves, and then AJ begins to attack Eva Marie on the outside. John Cena will respond to Heyman after the commercial break. We return with John Cena making his way to the ring. Cena says he is to be destroyed on Sunday if you listen to Paul Heyman. Cena says the one thing Lesnar will not do, and that is win. Cena says Lesnar will not win because Cena will not lay down for Brock Lesnar. Cena says he won’t lay down for him because he does not deserve the championship. Cena says Lesnar is a bully, and that he does not care about anyone but himself. Cena says he has heard it all, and people always ask when John Cena is going to turn. Cena says those people are going to get that wish on Sunday because you have to become a beast to beat one. He says that he will do anything necessary to keep the WWE Title. Cena says this isn’t Lesnar’s house, but it is the WWE Universe’s house. Cena then calls out Lesnar from the back. Lesnar doesn’t come out and Cena begins to taunt Lesnar some more. Cena says that he is going to be the one to beat the one, and that at Summerslam he will still be the champ. Stephanie McMahon vs Brie Bella is up next. Brie comes out and then Stephanie comes out not dressed in ring gear. She says that Brie is being arrested due to the fact that she put her hands on Megan. Megan decides to press charges, and then Brie is arrested and is taken out of the arena. Dolph Ziggler vs Heath Slater Dolph and Slater lock up in the ring, with Slater getting the upper hand at first. Slater then hits an elbow, but Ziggler fight back with dropkick. Ziggler then hits an elbow drop for a 2 count. Slater rolls up Ziggler but Ziggler kicks out. Slater then hits a big knee for a 2 count. Slater then puts Ziggler in a headlock. Ziggler gets out and then begins his comeback. Ziggler then hits the Zig Zag, and then goes after the Miz! Ziggler chases Miz on the outside, but then gets counted out as the Miz retreats. Winner: Heath Slater Ziggler gets back in the ring and offers a handshake to Slater. Slater tries to kick Ziggler, but Ziggler catches it and then hits the Zig Zag to stand tall. Randy Orton vs Sheamus Orton and Sheamus lock up, with no one gaining the advantage first. They lock up again with Orton gaining control and hitting a couple of clotheslines. Orton goes for a third, but Sheamus reverses into a powerslam. Sheamus then goes to the second rope and hits a diving knee. Orton gets up and is then thrown in the corner. Sheamus pulls Orton in for a clothesline. Orton then goes to the outside to take a breather. We go to commercial break. We return with Sheamus in a headlock. Sheamus gets out and then throws Orton to the outside. Orton however hits a back suplex onto the announce table. Orton throws Sheamus back in the ring and then puts in another headlock. Sheamus however gets back in it and then begins his comeback. Orton however catches Sheamus with a backbreaker, and then follows it with a hanging DDT. Orton calls for the RKO, but Sheamus fights Orton off with a powerslam. Sheamus makes the cover but Orton kicks out. Sheamus then goes to the top and goes for the Battering Ram, but Orton hits the RKO! Orton flaunts and then makes the cover for the 3 count. Winner: Randy Orton We return from commercial with everyone on the stage for Hulk Hogans birthday celebration. Hogan is then introduced and makes his way to the ring. Hogan gets in the ring and we are shown a video package of Hogan’s entire career. Hogan says that after seeing that video package, he feels like this is first time he is speechless. Hogan then hypes up Summerslam a bit, and then says today is the greatest day in his life. Hogan thanks everyone, and then says that its time to reflect back on things. He says he hopes he touched everyone’s lives the way they did for him. Out comes Ric Flair! Then comes Orndorff and Piper. Then former NWO members Scott Hall and Kevin Nash come out to celebrate as well! Hall grabs the mic and asks if the people want to see Hogan in the black and white. Hogan then rips the shirt off and reveals the NWO. Nash begins to sing happy birthday until Lesnar comes out! Lesnar begins to stare down everyone, and then grabs the mic. Lesnar says the party is over, and the gets in Hogans face. Out comes Cena! Both men stare each other down, and Lesnar decides to leave the ring. Cena stands tall in the ring with the legends as Raw concludes.
