WWHS ’64 Post Graduation Memories - Music - LATE 1964 and 1965 MALE VOCAL, Part 3. L-O-V-E, Nat King Cole, 1965. Nat Cole recorded this song on December 3, 1964, his last recording session ever. It was released on the same-titled album a month later in January, and he sadly passed away at the age 45 in February, 1965. Nat King Cole was posthumously awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1990 and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. Nat Cole was a leading jazz pianist in the 40s and 50s who started singing later in his career. Over all, he recorded 29 albums, appeared in 28 films, had his own television show, was a guest on other TV shows often, and was truly a legend in the entertainment industry.
