Wabash Valley College has scheduled Mine Safety and Health Administration “Inexperienced Miner” training for those seeking employment at coal mines. Classes are scheduled on three consecutive weekends in May. Both surface and underground inexperienced miner training will be available. Class size is limited. Preregistration and prepayment by phone is required. Any students who are not preregistered and prepaid will not be able to attend. Classes will be held at Wabash Valley College, Science Building 61 (SB61). Class times are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and will meet: Saturdays & Sundays (May 3-4-10-17-18, 2014). The fee for the class is $80 for Illinois residents and $180 for out-of-state residents. Prepayment by credit/debit card, cash, or money order is required. Classes fill up quickly. Students may pay for their classes on campus; however, they MUST preregister by phone and receive instructions for “paying on campus” option.
