Wadas illness: Deputy Governor advised to take acting position after 21 days as Wadas wife flown abroad. The vacuum created by the Governor of Kogi State Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada who was flown to an indian hospital for medical attention is currently generating ripples among the yoruba speaking tribe of the Deputy Governor. A reliable source who confided in me said a meeting of political elites from the Deputy Governors zone met at Revelon Hotel between Friday night and Saturday morning and advised the Deputy Governor to raise the alarm so he could be sworn in after 21 days of Wadas absence as the acting governor pending when Wada will return from his medical vacation. The source who is privy to the illness of Wada revealed that the move by Awoniyis kinsmen might not be unconnected with the fact that the health of the state Governor Idris Wada is deteriorating. It could be recalled that Capt Idris Wada had slapped his Chief of Staff a day before he was flown abroad fuelling suspicion of mental imbalance.
