Wagon Train...13 FireFly signaled to Rain ...Trouble came too...Both horses were ready. If something was wrong , she needed Rain, but the little black Trouble was learning from him and Rain was accepting it..Please dont grow old FireFly whispered. She patted his thick mane, pulling it into a fist as they galloped back to where the wagons last place was. The wagons had stopped. That was bad. Hushed words greeted her. Seems a little child had fallen off a buckboard and was killed in the fall. There was a ceremony with people placing rocks on a small grave ..With the emotions in full swing, these volatile people were like a powder keg. They were not looking around them, only at each other. They were not safe. There was danger here for all...FireFly felt the rocks and forest eyes ...She pushed her way thru to the Major ..Sir, there is a river crossing ahead, we need to make it there, and set by night fall. Water crossings are natural boundries to Indians, we may be entering or leaving an area. when we are at this natural marker we are safe . Until direction intent is made by travel....You wont have enough rocks around here to cover all the graves if you do not start moving now ...Right now ... Her skin crawled. They were not alone, they had not been for awhile and the fleeting glimpses were not lost on the many eyes that grazed around her. A squeal or grunt called attention to the fact her horses had seen someone furtive and darting. FireFly knew she had to move closer to the wagon train, they would need her if the attack was larger than she had figured they could handle...She knew one whistle and they would scatter away from wagons in a flash and gallop to safety. She pressed her heels to Rains sides an guided him up to the tall buckskin. She leaned over and lifted her quiver and bow from the saddle horn. Sliding both over her shoulder she continued through the herd till she was in front. Several chirps brought all the horses to attention and moving in behind Rain and her as they descended into the wagons group ..People stopped to watch the beautiful horses move into the wide space between the wagons. The horses drew into a group and waited quietly. FireFly Slid off Rain and walking up to the buckskin she uncinched his saddle and pulled her packs off and dropped the saddle on top of them, gently pulling the single loop rein from Rains jaw she wrapped the long piece of leather around her waist and tied a knot ...She was ready ...
