Wahome Thuku During my primary and high school days every school suffered a common misfortune. The best sport student in 100m was also the best in 200m and in 400m races, and in long jump. Unfortunatly he was always the most famous crook in the whole school and beyond. The student would either be on suspension or just out of school just when the zonal competitions were approaching. Conviniently he would report back with his mother just three days to the start of the games. The headmaster would have no choice but to forgive him or else the school would be last in the games with no replacement. We would all be excited to see the boy back to school. Likewise we would all forgive him for any mistakes. After all we also had our weaknesses. Not that we liked him but we couldnt imagine being eliminated at the zonals. And sure enough he would never disappoint in the games. We would cheer him all the way to districts or provincials from where he would come with trophy after another. He would be the school hero. He would not be punished for coming late or getting zero in maths. But just as soon as the games season was over the boy would do another crazy thing like stealing a school goat and he would be out again till the next season.
