Want to hear an ironic story? If youre my friend you probably do. On Wednesday I was walking to the Circle K by my house and happened upon two homeless heroin-addicted people. They claimed they need to go to a Salvation Army because the SA was willing to help them get bus tickets back to their home in California. I brought them to my house, and we ended up spending 24 hours together. I fed them, bought them bus tickets and made sure they were safe. Even if it was for just that day. I still have no idea if they made it or not. Today I walked to the same Circle K. The weather was cooperating on my walk there but when I exited the store it was pouring. I asked a couple of UTEP maintenance workers for a ride. Mind you I live three blocks away. They said that if I happened to be going towards UTEP, and not away from it, they would be able to help me. Next I asked a lady who was driving a Mercedes. She took one look at the tatts on my arm and started mumbling, basically saying No. My response was Why dont people like to help other people out. And then just smiled to myself and started walking back to my house in the rain. Be nice to each other people.
