Want to learn more about what global warming means for New Hampshire — and the challenges and opportunities we face moving forward? You’re invited to a Global Warming Thought Leaders Forum June 13th at 5:30 pm Keene State College, Putnam Science Center, Room 101 Come hear from New Hampshire leaders in business, government and academia and explore the latest local impacts of climate change, the discrepancy between the President’s rhetoric on climate change and the results of his Administration thus far, and the critical role Sen. Kelly Ayotte will play on this issue in the coming months. Speakers: 1) Jim Rubens, a former Republican state senator who proposed a revenue-neutral carbon tax. 2) Martha Carlson, UNH scientist who researches the response of sugar maples to climate stress. 3) Peter Hansel, President at Filtrine Manufacturing Co., a local business based in Keene, NH that received the Green Business Award in 2009. 4) Michael Faber, General Manager at Monadnock Food Co-op, local business based in Keene, NH that supports local farmers and producers and connects the community. Directions/Parking: Once you’re on the Keene Campus, parking is available in any Faculty/Staff or Commuter Lot on campus. The Science Lot sits right next to the Science Center building. Entrance to the Science Lot is at Winchester and Blake Street. Please do NOT park in any residential lot.
