Wanted to share why our tribal members seen my name up to run for 1 year NVU tribal council member than when it came time to vote, it wasnt there. Well when I went to the post office and seen a 2nd posting of the declarations for candidacy; it stipulated that the person wanting to run had to be a 1 year resident; well, I moved back at the beginning of November 2013 so I didnt qualify for the residency portion. So I called up the tribal coordinator and told her to remove my name; just wanted to make sure that no one had any qualms and that I desired to follow all the rules; anyways I would like to congratulate all of the Native Village of Unalakleet tribal members that were elected onto the council, may we all have a blessed positive year for all.
