Was on my way to work this morning along the MEX highway when I - TopicsExpress

Was on my way to work this morning along the MEX highway when I spotted, from the corner of my eye, a black furry lump by the road. I was driving at typical highway speed, and thus could not afford to make any sudden stops. A quick glance revealed that the furry lump was in fact a kitten, laying on its side, panting (yes panting!) weakly. I drove on after that, deciding to think about work first and kitty later. But I knew Id end up thinking about the kitten the whole day long. I eventually parked by the roadside and began walking against traffic to get to the injured cat. It was quite a long way, probably 200m or so, and two men on a motorbike asked me why I was walking against traffic. I explained my intentions, and asked them if they would help too. They seemed reluctant and I said its alright and continued walking. Eventually the Indonesian man (the passenger) called me back and got off the bike, telling his Indian friend (whos driving the motorbike) to give me a lift. I got on the bike and the man took me to where the kitten is. It hissed and spat on me, and despite its broken hind legs, tried its best to wriggle free from my grasp. Out of fear it began biting, and in its panic it pooped :/ On my work pants. In the car it drank tons and finally stopped panting. It is now safe with my kind kind friend Erna Farhana, who offered to be its fosterer after I told her that my house has reached its feline limit. The kitten has injured hind feet and a face thats badly scratched, probably a result of skidding face first on the road :/ But its still super cute and has a bushy tail - hes semi long haired :) Let me know if anyones keen on adopting him. Ive named him Max (found him on MEX highway so...) but once hes yours feel free to change his name! I look forward to the day when people would stop for wounded animals. Especially the drivers who hit the animals. I know sometimes these animals just come out of nowhere and you cant brake in time, but in the event that you do hit an animal (after trying your best to avoid it), the least you can do is to stop and pick it up and take it to the vet if its still alive. Okay? Okay. (Also the two men refused the little bit of money I offered, saying that they really wanted to help. I didnt get their names but I hope theyll be blessed with an abundance of happiness and bliss)
