Was quite busy last week with a fair bit of work and with sermon - TopicsExpress

Was quite busy last week with a fair bit of work and with sermon preparation. Glad to be able to continue to reflect and write. Thanks for reading, following and liking my posts about His Stories in my life. Here is Part 12 :) After moving into my own apartment and paying all deposits and bills, I was running low on cash. I needed to look for income. I heard many were working at a Chinese Restaurant but it ended late and I would need transport. My only mode of transportation was the blue bicycle. I learn from friends that the Student Union Office had a notice board outside where part time jobs and vacancies were posted. I would go there daily and see if there was anything I could do. That was how I found my first job - house cleaning for the coming Saturday. I quickly went to the public phone and made the call in case someone else called first. A lady picked up the call. Hello, I am calling regarding the cleaning job. Is it still available? Yeah! You want to do it? Yes! I am interested. May I know where it is? She mentioned a suburb that was new to me and I wondered how I was going to get there. Then she continued... If you want to do it, I will pick you up and take you there this Saturday. Wow! that was wonderful! Without hesitation, I said yes to the job not realizing what I was getting into. Saturday came, I was very excited and got all ready for my first job early in the morning. I was looking forward to earn some money. The pay then was around AUD5 per hour. The lady came and after exchange of greetings, we drove to a house some 30 minutes away. She took me to the back of the house, gave me a pail with cleaning supplies inside and told me she would be back at the end of the day. I was glad I made some sandwiches and brought some water for my lunch. It was a one room apartment and I was in shock when I saw the condition of the apartment. It was filthy! The floor, windows, the sink, the stove, the oven ... everything looked like they had not been cleaned for ages. For a moment I was lost and did not know how to start. That was my first time doing such cleaning. I worked very hard - sweeping, wiping, scrubbing and whatever I could to try to make that dirty apartment look decent again. When that lady came back in the evening, I was exhausted. She looked pleased and paid me AUD40. It was my first pay and I was confident that I would be provided because Jesus is my Shepherd, I shall have all I need ...
