Was sharing funny, yet serious story @ my dad with a client. Years back, dad was going w/me on cruise to Alaska, on the Cruise West small boats. Week prior, their sister ship, ran aground, and all those folks had to be moved to our ship. I was going as an agent, so my cabin got bumped to the bottom (truly, the dungeon). I warned dad, d/t his claustrophobia. Of course mom, tells him he will be “fine” – WRONG. We got to ship; he did an about face; almost ran over everyone; ran back up to the top deck; and other than coming to dining room for dinner, he did not leave that deck for 2 days (he slept on deck). Ship agreed to give me my own cabin (free) and he agreed to move back inside, but also kept his door open at night (literally by the engine). Great cruise/great dungeness crab/dined w/a judge & his wife from Vegas/great memory !
