Washington Holmes Technical Center Public Safety Division 757 Hoyt Street Chipley, Fl 32428 Phone: 638-1180 Fax: 638-6190 PRESS RELEASE******************PRESS RELEASE**************PRESS RELEASE WHTC’S PUBLIC SAFETY PROGRAM ANNOUNCES OPEN ENROLMMENT TO PARTTIME CORRECTIONS/LAW ENFORCEMENT/CROSS OVER ACADAMIES The Washington Holmes Technical Center has expanded their part time programs to be offered in the morning or at night. Classes are mirrored so students can attend in the morning or at night and not miss coursework. Open enrollment for the Part-time Basic Recruit Law Enforcement Academy will October 28th 2013. Open enrollment in the Part-time Basic Recruit Corrections Academy will be October 16th 2013. Students that successfully complete the training program will be eligible to become Florida certified correctional or law enforcement officers with an average starting salary of approximately $30,000.00 a year in this area. In order to spread the cost of the academy out the Tech Center offers a pay by the course option. The classes meet 4 days a week (Monday through Thursday) instead of the traditional 5 day academies which will allow students more flexibility to work, conduct business and spend time with their families.
