JLR targets 100,000 car sales in China this year 08 August 2013 - 6:13 am The British luxury carmaker said its target for exporting cars to China was due to the growing market in the world’s second-largest economy. JLR chief executive Ralf Speth said: “China is still growing and we hope to achieve an ambitious target of 100,000 cars this year.” The company reported an 11pc rise in sales in China from a year earlier in the first quarter of its financial year between April and June, with sales in the Asia-Pacific region up 37pc in total. Overall, the company said it sold 94,719 cars in the three months, a 10.4pc rise from a year earlier, with growth in all of its regions. Britain saw sales rise 13pc. JLR also reported a 25pc rise in pre-tax profit to £415m, while revenue increased by 13pc to £4.1bn after strong demand for its new Jaguar F-TYPE and new Range Rover, the carmaker said. !!
