Watch this inspiring song for kids called THE POWER OF YET sung by Janelle Monae. In the song, which will appear during Sesame Streets 45th season starting on Tuesday, each of the Sesame Street characters struggles with achieving a new skill: Elmo can’t get the right answer to an addition problem, Cookie Monster burns a batch of cookies, and Bert can’t remember the lyrics to a song. But, as Monáe reminds them, “everything you do, you do, you do it better, ‘cause this is what you get... with the power of yet!” The soul/R&B singer told Billboard, “I am so excited to be living one of my dreams” by being on the classic kid’s show. She has wanted to perform on the show ever since she watched it herself as a child. The song was written especially for Monáe, and captures both her energetic performances and her appreciation for determination and perseverance. “Im here because I am teaching everybody on Sesame Street the importance and the power of yet, said Monáe, Never, ever, ever give up because theres so much power in yet.” You can also check out Janelle Monáe and fellow R&B singer, Estelle, performing together in the empowering anthem “Do My Thing” at amightygirl/do-my-thing
