Watch this opening stand up for the PBS series Great Scenic Railway Journeys. It is about the Durango & Silverton narrow gauge line. . It is something I am still very proud of....and heres why: We were in the middle of nowhere Colorado waiting for the train to come. There was only one chance to get it right. One verbal slip and the take would have been ruined. We heard the train coming after waiting there for 30 minutes or so. I had to instantly get straight in my head what I was going to say in the stand up.....say it fast before the train passed and not mess up a single word. And by cracky I got it just right.
