Watched this one for the first time today, 1985s The Doctor and the Devils. Directed by Hammer alumnus Freddie Francis, the movie is yet another take on Burke and Hare, this time with the characters played by Jonathan Pryce and Stephen Rea and going by the names of Fallon and Broom. I guess even in 1985 the spectre of legal action by the descendents of the infamous graverobbers/murderers was enough to obscure their identities. The movie also stars Timothy Dalton in the Dr. Knox role, here as Dr. Rock and acts as a good warning to those staunch materialists who allow their pragmatism to trample morality. All in all, an uneven film with some very good moments but ultimately not quite on the same level as other treatments of the subject. https://youtube/watch?v=wSGEgxpVUfU
