Watched what was billed as a sporting event on TV. In between commercials, the commentators yammered on as the duplicated face of a sponsor glowered from behind and above each of their shoulders. Changed the station. Watched a game show in which the contestants alternately guessed the name of sponsored candy pictured in cross section on a screen then squealed and grunted over their accuracy once the wrapper was revealed. Changed the station. Watched a sitcom that first promoted the next show and then the sponsor at the bottom of the screen, while the show was running. Switched the station. Watched another sporting event in which the boundaries of the playing field were covered with ever changing advertisement placards Switched the station. Watched an infomercial in the guise of an interview with an expert doctor pitching an age reversing formula from some exotic foreign land. Broke my moth fascination with the flickering lights and went outside to sit on the front stoop. Cricket chirping washed over me. A fizzled hurricane front brought sweat to my arms. Lavender flowers along the walkway caught the headlights of the occasional car passing by.
