Watching all these comments regarding Nick Xenophon and the launch - TopicsExpress

Watching all these comments regarding Nick Xenophon and the launch of the NXT party really has my goat this morning - so heres my rant... Listen to all you self righteous people so concerned about the poor refugees and the passage of recent legislation through parliament recently.. Surely is plain to see the Labour Governments total and complete failure in this policy area during their reign. Hundreds died making or attempting to make the illegal journey into our sovereign borders. Why dont you all go and and actually do something to help the crisis around the world instead of yapping at the trap with how you are disgusted with the current policy and how its so terrible. Yes - we need to help those in need. We are indeed doing that by stopping the illegal trafficking trade. Current policy is a complete success and it will be a gross injustice to repeal the current legislation and once again allow thousands to attempt the perilous journey. Now Im not a Lib. Nor am I Labour, Green, National or any other. I just want to see this country once again become progressive, prosperous and sustainable so future generations can enjoy such freedoms and liberty that we enjoy today. If your so concerned, how about you join the ADF and help stem the flow of these illegal ventures. I bet you will do a complete 360 If you were exposed to the horrific scene thats presented before you when you board these illegal boats and see first hand what this legislation is stopping. People have to get off the band wagon and actually research this topic and make informed decisions. But if you all did that we wouldnt be in such a mess today with the current shambolic government we have, especially in the Upper House. But we all know that wont happen. Not while your enjoying your latte and freedoms others have fought hard to protect. And by the way... This is just one policy amongst thousands you need to focus your attention to. Why not take a stand on Australian homelessness or poverty. Education and the scary possibility it will once again be made attainable for the elite and not the average Aussie. The fact we are selling our resources, land and food to overseas governments for a song, stripping the profits from our people and country... Or the fact that we continue to raise the retirement age so we can afford to pay Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders more in welfare and assistance than caucasians, quite often for no other reason than their 1/8 native... Surely those born today are as native as I... You will all cry foul come the next GFC (which is imminent) and the austerity measures that will be imposed when it all goes to shit. We have seen nothing yet!
