We Did It !!!!! WE DID IT !!!! It was a seemingly simple task…go on a 4 mile jog like I normally do. But today took special planning and some hard work. Here’s the blow by blow: 1 hr prior to jog time, increase glucose target from 100 to 130 on The Brick to avoid exercise induced hypoglycemia Figure out how to carry a ridiculous amount of gear which included the following: o 2 insulin pumps o 1 Brick o 3 iPhones o 1 glucose meter o 1 container test strips o 1 lancing devise o 1 container glucose tabs o 2 lovely fanny packs o ear phones…cuz you gotta have tunes! o 1 dog tethered around my waist Pre jog glucose was 93. Really nice, but too low for exercise as I prefer to be closer to 150. Consumed 25g carb to bump me up a bit Completed 4 mile jog feeling higher than a kite that I didn’t bottom out. When I checked my blood sugar I jumped up and down with excitement. Dexie & The Brick both read 100 and my finger stick was 118 !!!! Not only did Dexie keep up with my exercise my blood sugar was stable. BOOM!
