We all agree that a well bred...well socialized ...well trained dog is a joy to behold! There is however much debate on exactly when the socialization and training begin. By way of explanation....let me share Sophies journey from Toronto Canada...to Orange County California. In anticipation of her impending 5 hour flight...the breeders placed Sophie is a small airline crate for 2 hour periods...3 times a day...for the two weeks preceding the flight (beginning at 8 weeks). Even though she was going to fly in a nylon carrier in the cabin of the plane...this allowed her to desensitize to the confinement and hold her bladder. Any training is defined by its results..... Because of US health laws she was confined throughout the Canadian and US Customs process plus the normal check in process. Also on the California end she was confined during baggage claim for a total of nearly 8 hours!!!! She is now completely crate trained and has had no accidents in the house... It wasnt rocket science...and another example of a reputable breeder who cares!!!
