We all are going to pass away someday, whether its from old age, heart attack, cancer or something else, the fact is we all are going to die. Its not a question why or what its when. Everything we accomplished does it have meaning. Is there a purpose for all of our work? We are not in the land of living going to the land of death rather in the land of death going to the land of life. In Job 14:14 he ask that question. If a man dies will he live again, Its amazing as you study the Old Testament the prophets wrote more than they really could understand. But because of their faith in God they said whatever God wanted. Jobs question is one that everyone wants to know today. Lets look at Jobs life. Here is a man that had everything and was robbed of it, stripped of his dignity, reduce to sickness and pain. His friends sat in judgement over his condition and said he must of sinned, his wife even turns against him, and God was silent. Yet out of his painful sore ridden mouth Job said I know my redeemer lives. One of the oldest books in the bible is talking about a redeemer, Jesus did not come to earth for a long time after Jobs life. What was he talking about my redeemer lives? Redeemer in the Old Testament meant purchasing back a relative from slavery. Who is he talking about? Who purchased us back from slavery? Christ. Christ is our redeemer, he rescued us from guilt and condemnation of our sin. We are not standing over the dead Lord but at an empty tomb. God did roll the stone way not only to let Jesus out but also to let us in. I know my redeemer lives. Job knew that if he kept his faith in God it will all work out in the end, and it did. It was not an easy time, it was definitely a trying and suffering time but it all worked out. Just like Job we are not living in a perfect world. This world is passing but the redeemer lives and has a living place to look forward to. God does not promise that we are all going to end up rich in this world by the money sense but we are rich by the redeemer. Do you know the redeemer? Does he live within you? My reward is the redeemer Jesus Christ, I know he lives and I will live with him someday.
