We are a female based mentoring program which promotes the empowerment for young girls ages 13-21 to build upon a more conceptual understanding of health issues, life skills, education, community outreach and the importance of fulfilling their goals. Description MISSION STATEMENT: “Women working to strengthen the community by empowering young females on healthy living through mind, body, soul and philanthropy.” MOTTO: "One person making a change becomes many making a difference." WHO ARE WE: Sisters Interacting with Sisters (S.I.S) is a tax deductible, tax-exempt, nonprofit organization as defined under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Codes in Prince Georges County located in Maryland. We are a female based mentoring program which promotes the empowerment for young girls ages 13-21 to build upon a more conceptual understanding of health issues, life skills, education, community outreach and the importance of fulfilling their goals. S.I.S seeks to rebuild self development and self esteem by emphasizing all aspects of helping women help themselves. Based on statistics in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, there is an extreme need for assistance on issues such as HIV/AIDS, child obesity and child abandonment. This organization creates an inlet by providing mentoring programs, education, nutrition enrichment, life skills and community outreach.
