We are asking that everyone think positive thoughts, and say some healing prayers for our sweet boy Jake. Jake isnt well. He was rushed to Animal Medical yesterday after letting his foster mom know that he was in great pain. We need to ask your help for Jakes emergency care. At this point the estimate to care for Jake is $2500 for blood work/Valley Fever Test/ X-Rays/Ultrasound/needle aspiration/cystology, overnight care with IV fluids and pain meds, antibiotics and anything else he might need. If you can donate to help with Jakes medical care, you can make donations through our PayPal account, the link is on our web page...or a check can be mailed to our PO Box, which is also on our web site. If you are making a donation over $100 and prefer to make it direct to the clinic caring for Jake, please private message us for that information. Every donation counts and we appreciate it. We will also be at two adoption events on Saturday...and donations can be make at either location. Thank you from all of us at Amazing Aussies. amazingaussies Below is what foster mom Deana wrote yesterday: So after a very normal morning and eating breakfast as usual...Jake started acting strange. No longer walking as normal...but more crunched up in what seemed like the abdominal area. Much like a person would do with a stomach ache. Also favoring his front leg. Jim checked all his limbs by stretching out and rotating the joints...felt along his spine...no pain reaction. Thinking did he jump off the bed and hurt something?? Pulled a back muscle?? He was not exhibiting typical obstruction signs...pacing...drinking water and then vomiting but something was not right. Still walking strange and very clingy...sitting on our feet as clues as he could get. Off to the vet. He could not load up into the explorer...had to help him. He had a dog bed for comfort but whined all the way there. He never whines! He went straight in for X-ray to look for bloat or possible obstruction. Ruled out bloat and did several more X-ray views for obstruction knowing that you wont always see an object there. Also blood work for organ function and pancreatitis. No indication of obstruction and spine etc as far as vertebrae alignment all good. Did find the mostly cause if his pain (he is very stoic)....a cyst or tumor on his left kidney. Very painful. Jake stayed overnight on IV fluids w antibiotic and pain meds. Will have ultrasound this morning to learn more about this growth and the cause. Of course we have great fear in our hearts but at this point we just dont know yet. Also did VF test as you never know where a VF lesion will form. Please send healing thoughts and prayers for Jake.
