We are designing a next version of Soartronic BT module. We have already made special edition models which can operate using 5V-15V DC input instead of the 3.3V provided by the FLARM units for displays and other connecting devices. Some users either cannot use the FLARM provided power supply, or they are using BT1 with other devices, like variometers and loggers. We can make the power supply selectable on each Soartronic BT module, but then we have to increase the price for 5 EUR to cover the component cost, added labour and increased number of products failing quality control. Would that be acceptable, or should we start offering two versions, BT1 as it is today and a separate BT2regulator model, which can be used with 5V or 12V supply? Then the regulator model will be build on smaller quantities, and the price will be higher, like 50 EUR per unit.
