We are finally home. Had an appt at 2:40 with The Core Group in Gilbert. After 2 1/2 hours with Dr and Surgeons discussing options they gave Paul 2 scenarios. If they pin the break in each finger Paul would not be able to close his hand AND he would only be able to bend from the hand knuckles. The pins start at the middle knuckles and would not bend. Or they could splint and cast the hand so the broken fingers can heal without surgery. The first splint was under the hand. The new splint/cast is set on top of his hand so he cant go UP with his fingers or hand. In a week, if it isnt working then the pins will have to be used. Paul went with the splint/ cast. His thumb and front fingers can bend down. But not up. We are going to get a truck load and head out tomorrow. I can do the qualcom and writing. He can drive. He is doing pretty good about pain meds. He skipped a couple of them. Tonight he will have a dose. Then no more. So he can drive. Dr put him out with light duty. Safety person will look at his mobility in the morning. Just made dinner. He is doing pretty good.
