We are forcing God to be confined within the constraints of our playhouse only that we are calling them churchs,it is too easy for us to bow our knees and not bow our hearts. We cross our fingers behind our backs and pretend that God doesnt see through our performance while we confess love loyalty with less than total sincerity. Whenever i pass a shopping mall, school,bar or offices the crazy thought comes to mind. Lord, why not right here? Why dont you just break out right here? Atleast they dont play religious games. The modern church is a caretaker or a maintence organization at best, and a museum of what once was at worst. Our greatest problem is that weve stocked our shelves with the wrong stuff. We offer the hungry our dusty shelves of bland, man-produced religious ritual that no one in his right mind is really hungry for! Empty religious ritual. If anyone would open a church that dispenses Jesus, the hungry masses would come, the church would not be able to handle the explosion of lost souls wanting to be saved. Prehaps the reason we havent stocked our services with the right stuff is because it doesnt come cheap? The church today has made it to the halfway point in its journey across the wilderness. We are camped at the foot of mount sinai, much like the children of israel in the book of Exodus. It is obvious that we have reached the point where we are going to have to make a decision. Will we run or go in like Moses? Who God told Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the childern of Israel: ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how i bare you on eagles wings and brought you unto myself. Now therefore if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shell be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is Mine and Ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of Priests and an holy nation. Exodus 19 thats on my mind today..blessed week
