We are home from the ER...finally! When I picked Schuy up at church school, her skin (even her lips) was the color of a gray crayon; she kept slumping over and her eyes were rolling back in her head. I sort of panicked and took her directly to the ER. She complained of her stomach hurting and feeling like she might vomit. I was certain the hospital staff would think I was crazy...bringing her in for what was probably just a bug. But, they were great. By then, she was less gray and more white. After just a little while, they were able to provide some answers. They are calling it a Vagal Response (sp?)... basically she had a brief fainting spell due to not feeling well. This is probably why she turned ashen. The doctor said her body might be predisposed to doing this when she doesnt feel well, is surprised, scared, etc. While the thought of her fainting over pain or fear, etc. is a bit of a foreign thought to me, at least I know what it is if it happens again. She certainly scared her church school teacher and I!! Schuyler is in bed sound asleep now, but has never actually thrown up...not once. I guess fainting episodes can wear little ones out. Well see if it actually turns into a bug or not. Lets hope not! Thanks for your prayers, thoughts and concerns! We appreciate it!
