We are home from the hospital.... Robbie has a virus that has gotten the better of him. He hadnt eaten anything since Wednesday night and has hardly drunk anything since then too. Took him to the dr on Thursday evening who gave him medication to stop the vomiting, this didnt help ( and no one I have spoken to agrees that it was something thet should have been given), so after ringing 13Health and speaking to them, we went back to the drs. This time I saw the same dr who had dealt with this whinging mum at xmas when he was really sick. He had a quick look and sent us straight up to the hospital. He had 10 hours of fluids overnight as he was severely dehydrated. We have to keep a very close eye on him, there is not much that they can do for him, just make sure he drinks throughout the day/night and if he feels like eating anything to give it to him. If he starts vomiting or refusing to drink we have to take him straight back to the childrens hospital. I feel like a bad mum as I trusted the first doctor who gave him the medication and told us not to worry that it will take 2-3 days to come right...
